Shopper’s Liabilities and Responsibilities

Resolution: Shoppers must verify the legality of items before making a request.Accurate Item Description
Scenario: A Shopper provides incomplete or misleading information about the requested item (e.g., brand, size, or condition). Upon delivery, the item does not meet expectations.
Resolution: The Shopper bears responsibility for providing accurate details. If disputes arise, evidence of communication and agreed terms will be critical for resolution.Confirmation of Delivery
Scenario: A Shopper refuses to confirm receipt of an item because they claim the item arrived damaged or in poor condition.
Resolution:If damage occurred during transit, liability depends on the agreed-upon terms. For example, if the Traveler followed all precautions but the item was inherently fragile, the Shopper may be liable.
If the Shopper refuses to confirm delivery without valid reason, Amanah may mediate and release payment to the Traveler based on evidence of delivery (e.g., photos or signed receipts).
Traveler’s Liabilities and Responsibilities
Transporting Items Safely
Scenario: A Traveler agrees to transport a delicate item, such as glassware, but does not pack it securely. The item arrives broken.
Resolution: The Traveler is liable for damages if it can be proven that they failed to take reasonable precautions. Amanah may mediate to determine if compensation to the Shopper is required. Travelers are advised to document the packaging process and condition of the item before transport.Compliance with Customs and Airline Regulations
Scenario: A Traveler agrees to transport a restricted item (e.g., a lithium battery device) and is stopped by airline security. The item is confiscated, or the Traveler faces penalties.
Resolution: The Traveler is responsible for verifying the legality and compliance of transported items. Amanah is not liable for penalties or fines incurred by the Traveler.Timely and Accurate Delivery
Scenario: A Traveler delays the delivery of an item beyond the agreed timeframe or delivers the wrong item.
Resolution: The Traveler is liable for any inconvenience caused by their delay or error. Amanah may intervene to mediate disputes and determine whether a partial refund or other remedy is appropriate.
Shared Liabilities Between Shoppers and Travelers
Disputes Over Item Condition
Scenario: A Shopper claims that an item arrived damaged, but the Traveler provides evidence (e.g., photos taken during handoff) showing the item was delivered in good condition.
Resolution:Amanah encourages both parties to document the item’s condition at every stage (purchase, packaging, delivery).
If neither party provides sufficient evidence, Amanah may close the dispute without holding either party accountable.
Item Not As Described
Scenario: A Traveler purchases an item based on the Shopper’s request but selects the wrong model or brand.
Resolution:If the Traveler failed to follow the Shopper’s explicit instructions, they may be required to provide a refund or partial compensation.
If the error arose from unclear instructions provided by the Shopper, the Shopper is liable for the mistake.
Payment Disputes
Scenario: A Shopper claims they paid more than agreed, or a Traveler claims they did not receive full payment.
Resolution: All payments must be made through Amanah’s secure system, where transactions are logged. Amanah will review payment records to resolve such disputes.
Steps to Handle Specific Scenarios
Damaged Items During Transport
Traveler’s Responsibility: Ensure proper packaging and safe handling of the item.
Shopper’s Responsibility: Clearly communicate if an item requires special care (e.g., fragile or temperature-sensitive items).
Amanah’s Role:
Request evidence from both parties (e.g., photos or written agreements).
Mediate to determine liability and recommend compensation if applicable.
Failure to Confirm Delivery
Shopper’s Responsibility: Confirm receipt of an item promptly if it matches the agreed-upon description and condition.
Traveler’s Responsibility: Provide proof of delivery (e.g., photos, signed acknowledgment).
Amanah’s Role: If the Shopper refuses to confirm delivery without valid reason, Amanah may release payment to the Traveler based on submitted evidence.

Late or Missing Deliveries
Traveler’s Responsibility: Communicate delays promptly and deliver items within the agreed timeframe.
Shopper’s Responsibility: Allow reasonable flexibility for delays caused by unforeseen circumstances (e.g., flight cancellations).
Amanah’s Role: Mediate disputes and determine if compensation (partial refund or fee reduction) is appropriate.

Shopper’s Liabilities and Responsibilities
Compliance with Customs and Legal Regulations
Scenario: A Shopper requests an electronic device that is not permitted for import in the destination country. If the item is confiscated by customs, the Shopper is liable for the loss, and no refund will be provided.
Illegal Items or Customs Issues
Shopper’s Responsibility: Avoid requesting items that are illegal or restricted in the destination country.
Traveler’s Responsibility: Verify the legality of items before agreeing to transport them.
Amanah’s Role: Provide educational resources on customs and prohibited items but disclaim liability for violations.
Late or Missing Deliveries
Traveler’s Responsibility: Communicate delays promptly and deliver items within the agreed timeframe.
Shopper’s Responsibility: Allow reasonable flexibility for delays caused by unforeseen circumstances (e.g., flight cancellations).
Amanah’s Role: Mediate disputes and determine if compensation (partial refund or fee reduction) is appropriate.
